Raised in the Inland Empire, Haight’s upbringing consisted of Perris’ dirt roads and Orange groves, and Hemet’s retirement communities. These locales have rendered in him interest in environments and states of mind both sought after and tossed aside.
Located within each figure is an environment all the minds' own with a body language evocative of that suffering. Likewise the environments in each setting are indicative of the figures' own personal mind-space and the karmic fields involved in their ingress and egress on the path to the alleviation of suffering.
As a multi-disciplinary artist, Haight combines his personal experiences and travels to fuel and inform his artistic practice ranging from photography, music, writing and paintings. Haight's work blurs the lines between the literal and figurative, with the artist's signature brushstrokes and meticulous details in the paintings. His subject matter ranges from exploring the socio-political cultural climate to the artist's every day observations injected with the artist's uncanny yet cheeky sense of humor.
